Is Colonoscopy Prep Really That Difficult?

Editorials - Is Colonoscopy Prep Really That Difficult?: "Try it. You might like it."

Truly bizarre line in a prep article.

ummm no thanks. You try it, you'll definitely like it. We'll ask Dr W tomorrow if you can do it again in a couple of months. I'm sure she'll be thrilled.

Wow, not a line I would have written. Bizarre indeed.

"A newer prep requires a less difficult procedure. In this case, the liquid used for a fleet enema is taken instead by mouth (3 oz. twice in an 6 hour period). During this time, a 6-pack of Coke or any other clear beverage needs to be consumed. End of preparation. That's it. Persons taking this prep are allowed clear broth, Jell-O (but not red Jell-O), tea with sugar or lemon, but not milk."

Is this prep just as effective though?

Maybe the prep they are describing is less revolting than the preps I've done. Mine were certainly not fun. In fact, by dose three of that disgusting whatever-it-is you have to drink I would happily have taken the enema!

Nope, they are talking about the phospho soda prep that my doctor uses. Ok, she doesn't say consume a six pack of coke but whatever. Phospho soda is gaggy horrid stuff.

It allegedly is the most effective.

Oh my goodnes!!

I just registered what that article actually says. Are they serious??? They are suggesting that DRINKING your enema is more fun than the enema??????!!!!!

That little gem definitely deserves some kind of award!
